"Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardry," said Jayson's mother. "But I've never heard of it."
"Neither have I, Pamela," responds Jayson's father. "Perhaps it is a prank one of his friends are playing?"
"But Jayson never acts up! How can this be a prank?" responds Pamela. "Well, I guess we should follow the directions on the map, it will sort this dilemma out."
Jayson and his parents got into the car and drove to Charring Cross Road. He could see the Leaky Cauldron.
"It's there!" said Jayson.
"I don't see it." said his father.
"Give me the money, I will go in alone. I guess unless your a witch or wizard, you can't see it." responded Jayson.
Jayson's father handed over the cash, and Jayson got out of the car.
He walked into the Leaky Cauldron. What a strange place, he thought to himself. He walked up to the bar, the inn keeper seemed strange too, perhaps he could help him.
"Hello," said Jayson. "I received a letter saying that I was accepted into Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, only, I'm not sure how to get into Diagon Alley."
"The back door, third brick up, fifth in." said the barman.
"Thank you." responded Jayson. He entered the back and tapped the brick. Immediately a door opened up in front of him. Where was he supposed to go now? The streets were packed.
He stood in the entrance looking aghast. Why hadn't he thought to ask where to go next? He didn't even know if Wizards used real money! He was overwhelmed....

A girl with piercing blue eyes and black hair arrived at the Leaky Cauldron by herself. It was time for her annual shopping trip before school started. One of her visions had told her this was the perfect day to come.
Mariana, the girl, opened the door to the Leaky Cauldron and spotted a young boy, who looked like he just found out.
"Um...excuse me? Would you like some help?" Mariana smiled at the boy, hoping that her voice hadn't startled him.

"Um...excuse me? Would you like some help?" Jayson looked for the source of the voice. His jaw dropped at the sight of her. Her eyes were magnificent, he couldn't help but stare.
"Um.. Help.. Yes.. Me do... Yes." was all he could respond. Shut up Jayson, just shut up before she thinks your a creep. He shook his head to clear his mind.
"Sorry, I'm just overwhelmed. I have money, but don't know where to start. Do they accept cash from the real world?" asked Jayson. Again, those eyes...

Mariana blushed at this boy staring at her. She was only slightly used to this. The smile was almost plastered on her face.
"No. I can help you get the appropriate amount though. Are you new the the magical world? Are your parents muggles? What's it like being a muggle?" Mariana just kept asking questions. It was as if she had diarrhea of the mouth.

Jayson was taken aback. "What's a Muggle?" asked Jayson. He didn't know whether he should call his parents one in case it was offensive. "Where do I go change my money? What is the wizarding currency like?"

Mariana just continued to smile, but she walked toward the nearest table. She waited for the boy to follow her. She knew that this would be a little bit of a challenge explaining this stuff to him, but it was fine, because she had all the time in the world.

Jayson followed the girl to the tables. "I'm Jayson by way, I think I forgot to tell you that." he said. "I can't get anything to eat or drink until I change my money, shouldn't we do that first?" he asked.

"It is quite a pleasure to meet you, Jayson. My name is Mariana." Mariana turned toward the bar, where Tom stood. "Can we get two butterbeers, please, Tom?"
The man behind the counter nodded and the drinks were sitting on the table in no time.
"Well, Jayson, a muggle is a non-magical person. You're a wizard, you can perform magic. However, you can never perform magic around muggles. So, your parents, you wouldn't be able to show them anything that you've learned. There is a bank in Diagon Alley, which is about ten feet from here, called Gringotts. The wizarding money is called knuts, sickles, and galleons."
Mariana wanted to sit there and help him. She was excited to have a new friend. The butterbeer arrived on their table, and she started sipping it.

"How did the term Muggle come about? Does anyone know? Are your parents magical? Can you do any magic? Why can't I show my parents? What would happen if I did?" asked Jayson. "I'm sorry, I just have a million questions. I can't pay for these drinks either. But I can give you $5 if you want?" He looked into Mariana's eyes, hoping that she would see the plea from within to accept his offer. He didn't even know how much this drink would actually cost him.

"Well, about the drinks, its free today. You need not worry, Love." Mariana smiled at him. She knew that he would have questions.
"I'm not exactly sure how the term came about. Both my adoptive parents, and my biological parents are purebloods, meaning they were born witches and wizards. Yes, I can do magic. I just took my exam at the end of last year, allowing me to do magic outside of school. Underaged witches and wizards aren't allowed to do magic outside of school. As for the reason why you can't show your family, its because there is a 'Statute of Secrecy'. There are only few muggles that know about us. You could be expelled from Hogwarts if you perform magic outside of school."
Mariana continued to talk about the wizarding world, as Tom came up and told them how much the butterbeers were going to cost. Mariana took out a baby blue pouch, and pulled out the correct amount, plus a little more. "Keep the change, Tom. You've been a right gentleman."
Mariana turned back to Jayson. "Once you're done drinking that, we'll go to Diagon Alley. Oh, are you staying here until school starts?"

Jayson stared at the money. "You only have coin money? No notes? Odd. I will be going home instead of staying here. Although, we could meet here to get on the train? I've never heard of platform 9 3/4's. But since it was hard enough getting into Diagon Alley, I guess I would need the help." He gulped down the butterbeer. It was the best taste he had experienced since Coca Cola. He felt his excitement begin to rise. He couldn't wait to get to the shops and look at all the things he needed, or wanted. He stood up from the table and looked down into Mariana's eyes.
"Shall we go then?" he asked holding out his hand for her.

Mariana smiled and grabbed Jayson's hand. "Of course. You know, your parents can go with us to King's Cross Station to see you off."
Mariana led the way toward Diagon Alley.

"Can they actually get onto the platform? I assumed it would be like the Leaky Cauldron, I could see it and they couldn't? How strange..." responded Jayson. Her hand felt cold in his hand, perhaps it was his nerves raising his temperature. He wished he knew what the future held for them, would they become close friends, would they fall in love, or would they part? He wished he knew. He thought he knew the answer too, because no matter what, he always wanted to stare into those eyes. For eternity if possible. OOC:// My "O" button is faded and I couldn't find it haha! It's okay too, because I'm tired, I have lame responses too

Mariana stopped dead in her tracks. Her face went blank and her eyes glassed over. It was another vision. She was getting sick of these visions.
It was a vision of Mariana and Jayson. They were walking hand in hand through the grounds of Hogwarts.
Mariana came to. "Oh. Uh. Okay."

"Are you okay?" asks Jayson. He was really concerned. She looked like she was possessed for a moment. He let go of her hand. "I will go get help! Stay here!"
He started to run back up the street towards the Leaky Cauldron..

Mariana smiled and followed after Jayson.
"No, Jayson, I'm fine. I forgot to tell you, I am a seer. I can see the future." Mariana smiled at him.
She didn't know what this future held for her, or him even. Was it possible? As a matter of fact, was it probable.

"You... What?" responded Jayson. "Is this a branch of magic? How do you learn it? Can you learn it?" asked Jayson.
He was very interested in this. He wasn't sure whether he should ask what she saw, would it have been a good or bad answer he received? He decided not push his luck. He decided he liked the way he lived his life at the moment, taking each day as it came.
"Are you sure you're okay? Should we continue to Gringotts and get my money changed?" asked Jayson. He was still really concerned about Mariana. He raised his eyebrows in question to whether she was absolutely okay. He didn't much like the idea of having someone float in and out of the future. He felt uncomfortable with the idea of it, but he was still very fascinated by her, and drawn in by her eyes. If it weren't for my age... Maybe. But, no. I'm too young, she wouldn't... Why would she.. Stupid thought.

Mariana giggled politely at Jayson's accusation. "Jayson, I'm alright. It happens from time to time. I was born a seer. I see into the future. No, you cannot learn to be a seer. The closest you can get is a class at Hogwarts, your third year. Its called Divinations. Its such a wholly discipline and the teacher is a hag."
She rolled her eyes at the thought of the bug-eyed Professor Trelawney. She really did despise her. A teacher claiming to be a real seer, when all she sees was a bunch of nonsense.
"Shall we be on our way?" Mariana smiled at Jayson almost entranced by his presence.

"Yeah, sure. Are we heading to that big white building over there?" Jayson pointed further down the street. A class at Hogwarts...... You can't learn it.... "What is the point in Divination if you can't learn to be a Seer? It seems like a waster of time." said Jayson. OOC:// When we enter places, do we switch boards? Or just stay on this one?

OOC:// Nope, we can stay right on this one. Mariana looked at the building. "Yeah that would be the one. And, I don't care so much for Divinations. I don't know why you have to take it, but you can drop it after the first year." Mariana felt a pulling sensation towards Jayson. She wanted to reach out and grab his hand. It was too soon. He was too young. She didn't know what to do.

"You have to do it? Oh, I can see that will be disastrous!" responded Jayson. He continued walking up the street towards Gringotts. The whole time he couldn't look away from Mariana. Her hair flowing in the wind, her eyes glistening in the sunlight. Why did these things always hit you like a bus? He was expectant for the day to end, perhaps then he would be able to think clearly of what lay ahead for himself, instead of wonder what the future had in store for Mariana and himself.
He held the door open for Mariana to enter Gringotts. As he opened the door, he looked at the tellers, or what he expected to be tellers. "Are they- What- Where are the bankers?" asked Jayson. He was stunned to see these creatures. They didn't look like the kind of creature you could trust.

Mariana grinned at Jayson. "You're such a gentleman. There aren't many like that at Hogwarts. Those creatures there, those are goblins."
She figured that she would give him a fellytone number. Or was it a telephone. She couldn't remember. She figured that she would get a chance to talk to him outside of this time.
"Just step on up and tell them that you want to exchange some muggle money for our money, and you'll get some." Mariana said to him.

"That simple? How do they know what its worth? How would I know they aren't just ripping me off?" asked Jayson. He was nervous. Truly nervous. He was not sure about handing money over, it didn't seem like it would be right. He wished now, more than ever, that all currency was the same.
"It would be a lot easier if yen, dollar and pounds were all the same thing, let alone knuts, sickles and galleons." he muttered under his breath. The world is so complicated...

"I'll make sure its right." Mariana smiled a beaming smile, showing her straight glistening white teeth.
As if it were a natural thing, Mariana batted her eyes and played with her hair. This was definitely a guy that she could be with. She could tell, not just from a stupid vision.

"How will you know though? Do you understand my currency? Or can you predict whether they will rip me off?" asked Jayson. He looked down at her. Why was she so innocently playing with her hair, didn't she realize it was driving him mental? Maybe I should just ask what the future holds for me and her.... But no. She will think I'm desperate. I shouldn't do this. I should wait and see. Maybe when she is at Hogwarts, it will be as if we never met. Oh I hope not. But it could be. But I really hope not......

Mariana felt a odd sensation in her stomach. It was the gravity pulling her closer to him yet again.

"Uhh.. Not really. No." Responded Jayson. "I like the unknown. Although, if I'm ever in danger, you would tell me right?" asked Jayson. He looked down at Mariana, and hoped that she would let him know of danger.

Jayson's jaw dropped. Was she making a move? I think she is! He cleared his throat. "I think we should go an exchange my money before we do anything else. I really should get all my school supplies..."
Maybe at Hogwarts, he thought to himself. He walked towards one of the Goblins. He didn't know what to expect.
"I would like to change this for wizards money, please." he said to the Goblin.
"Would you like to open a vault at the same time?" asked the Goblin.
Jayson turned to Mariana. "A vault?" he asked her. The goblin made a noise that showed he didn't like to have someone else addressed but himself.

"I'm sorry, Griphook. He's a muggle-born." Mariana apologized to the goblin.
She turned to Jayson. "A vault is like a muggle bank account."
Mariana looked around at the empty vicinity. She sighed. She was craving ice cream. She hoped that he would be up for eating some.
